PTO Minutes February 19, 2008
Attendance: Robin Soffer, Janet Hanley, Mary McCabe, Mary Rogers, Barb Nelson, Yvette Price, Audrey Shannon, Luisa Shannon, Tee Moran, Sue Quinn, Donna Villa, Becky Peterson, Connie Geocaris, Katie Trankina, Ellen Mrazek.
1. Barb explained that when we use the school’s mailing permit, we can no longer enclose a return envelope with a parent’s address.2. January minutes approved.
3. Sue Quinn – Post Prom
A written report attached. Sue said that ESPN and the coach busses have been booked. They are planning for 250 students and they need 250 to break- even. The committee will need more adults to chaperone. Students on the Prom Committee are involved in the planning.
The committee is hoping to tie in to a school program for parents about issues of drug and alcohol use and driving. Getting students involved in planning.
4. Janet Hanley – Treasurer’s Report
A written report is attached. Janet said that we are doing well on theater benefit.
5. Theater Benefit

a. Becky Peterson- Decorations. Becky showed a sample of the wall decorations and explained the table decorations. She is planning for 30 tables. Most of the materials are ordered. Becky is hoping that the cost will come in under $3,000.
b. Mary McCabe – Dinner. Mary is working on the menu. She said that we will have three stations. One station will include turkey carving and sides, the second will be Italian with a meat-based pasta and a vegetarian pasta and the third will be Southwester n, with pork tenderloin. For dessert , there will be pies and two or three chocolate fountains.
c. Barb gave Allison Nelson’s report on publicity and music. Both local newspapers have assigned reporters. The press release and photos are going to both papers. A free ad will run in the Wednesday Journal two weeks prior to the event. The banner is going up tomorrow and posters are being distributed
